Loss Assessors Monaghan

Mc Carthy Loss Assessors (MCLA), a member of the Insurance Institute of Ireland, is regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland and are Insurance Claim Experts. Our Insurance Loss Assessors act on behalf of you, the policyholder.

Your insurance company, at the time of a loss or damage to your property, be it your home or business, will appoint a loss adjuster to represent their interests.

Loss Adjusters are appointed by the insurance company to settle the claim as economically as possible in the interests of the insurance company.

We, as Property Claim Loss Assessors, are employed and appointed by you, the policyholder, to represent YOU and obtain for you a fair and equitable payment for the damage/loss you have suffered.

Our Loss Assessor holds an Honours Degree in Building Surveying and is also a Certified Insurance Practitioner which makes him an expert in his field.

How Can A Loss Assessor Help Me?

Our Loss Assessors are fully aware of the legal rights you, as the policyholder, have and work throughout to make sure that your rights are properly adhered to. We work tirelessly to ensure you get fair and equitable compensation for the damage you have suffered. As the holder of an Honours Degree in Building Surveying, our Loss Assessor is qualified to recognise secondary/hidden damage. This damage will not be visible to the untrained eye. The loss adjuster, representing your Insurance Company, is not likely to highlight this damage as his/her role is to keep the settlement as low as possible for the insurer to whom you are paying a premium to cover this damage. Your Loss Assessor, however, will highlight all damage when he meets with the Loss Adjuster and make sure it is included when calculating the amount of compensation to which you are entitled.

What we will do for you

    • Complete an initial survey of the loss and examine your policy and its terms and conditions
    • Report the claim on your behalf to the insurer (if not already reported)
    • Provide expert advice on all aspects of the procedure
    • Meet with the Loss Adjuster representing the insurance company, at the earliest convenience, to present your loss to the insurer
    • Prepare a bill of quantities to reflect the damage/loss
    • Negotiate a fair and efficient settlement, under the terms of your insurance policy
    • Discuss settlement details with you and act upon your instruction. We will not accept any settlement offer without your approval.
    • Arrange and accompany the Insurers Loss Adjuster on any re-inspection that may be required throughout the process

Claims are a complex procedure and can be difficult to understand. The average policyholder won’t have any experience or understanding in this area. By acting on your behalf, we remove this burden by acting in all aspects of the negotiations, while consulting with you throughout the claim process. Each claim itself is unique and we treat it as such.
